Our consulting services are for homeowners, designers, and builders, specific to their project site. After consulting on your project, we can provide a written summary of what we’ve discussed, our recommendations and any other guidance that would be helpful.
  • Overall space configuration (locating paths, patios, play areas, privacy screening, etc.)
  • Grade changes. E.g. modifying the existing topography to level portions of a property, options for dealing with difficult slopes, adding patios/walls/etc.
  • Renovating mature landscapes to give a more contemporary look and/or updating landscapes to adapt to changing life periods or new events in a family’s life. E.g. as children grow and use the yard differently, making garden spaces more accessible for older adults, or when the new puppy and landscape are in conflict.
  • Planning for irrigation systems and landscape lighting (new or existing)
  • Addressing drainage issues due to heavy soils, natural springs, downspouts, grade constraints, etc.
  • Analyzing landscape plans you already have, whether it be your own plan or one done by a landscape designer, architect or builder.
Exterior design
A winding path adds flair to the family’s play space, with landscape lighting making it usable at night and providing a dramatic view from the house which overlooks the space from above.
Chairs and tables outside the house
Custom planters provide a visual edge for a platform deck and add vibrant color to the space. The planters were built using an eco-friendly, modified wood called Kebony.

A tunnel through an earthen berm gives space for the family’s dogs (and friends!) to explore and play chase in a safe environment.

A recirculating water feature adds a focal element and soothing sounds to a new patio.
Green plants
A City-approved rain garden allows rainwater from the roof to permeate into the soil and help with drainage issues.

Landscape lighting not only adds function to a space, it also creates ambience and adds subtle beauty.
